Since 1968, Mr. Lebowitz has been active in the development, management and ownership of a wide range of real estate, and investments. He was the President, Co-Chairman and co-founder of G&L Realty from 1976 – 2015. The Company was on the NYSE from 1993 – 2006 as a Healthcare REIT specializing in medical office buildings and senior care properties. Since 2008, Mr. Lebowitz has been co-general partner and owner in the development of Behavioral Hospitals in the Western US. Also, Mr. Lebowitz manages a family and personal portfolio of public securities.
Among various Boards, Mr. Lebowitz served on the Board of Directors of the United States Chamber of Commerce, Washington, D.C. from 1989 to 1994, he was on the Board of U.S.C. Davis School of Gerontology from 2005 to 2013 where he was Chairman of the Board from 2010 to 2012 and on the Board of UCLA Hospital from 2011 – 2015.
Currently, he is the CEO of Watch Hill Capital, his family office. Also, he is the Co-Chairman with his wife, Deborah, of the Steven and Deborah Lebowitz Foundation.
Mr. Lebowitz received a B.S. in Accounting in 1962 from the University of Southern California, where he also received his MBA with highest honors in 1965. From 1962 to 1964, Mr. Lebowitz worked for Deloitte & Touche, LLP and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1964. From 1965 to 1968, Mr. Lebowitz worked with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.
DAVID LEBOWITZ
Executive Vice President
David Lebowitz has been Executive Vice-President at Watch Hill Capital since its inception in 2016 and was named a Partner in 2020.
Since 2008, he’s been the principal managing member of a joint venture (“JV”) with Signature Behavioral Healthcare Services that focuses on the behavioral health assets. Mr. Lebowitz has led all development and acquisition efforts of 8 facilities and 1000 beds. He also has experience in the management and development of medical office buildings.
Since 2015, Mr. Lebowitz has been on the Board of Advisors at the UCLA Resnick Psychiatric Hospital (UCLA Health System) and is currently a Board Member for Maccabi USA Sports.
Mr. Lebowitz received his B.S. in Management from Tulane University. Mr. Lebowitz is a Los Angeles native and enjoys spending his free time with his family, golfing, skiing and following the LA sports scene.
ANDY LEBOWITZ
CEO of ASL Healthcare Properties
Andy Lebowitz founded and started ASL Healthcare Properties (ASL) which owns Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities throughout the country. ASL specializes in turnaround opportunities where they look to acquire facilities that need an infusion of capital to improve the physical plant while typically bringing in new management to improve quality of care and increase profitability. ASL is also a partner in a national portfolio of acute freestanding behavioral hospitals.
Mr. Lebowitz worked at G&L Realty Corp (NYSE: GLR) from 2003-2014 as its Executive Vice President and Director of Senior Housing. While there Mr. Lebowitz oversaw all aspects of its senior care portfolio including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, operations, and asset management.
Mr. Lebowitz successfully completed the California Nursing Home Administrator In Training program in 2000 and worked as the Director of Operations for a 227-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Santa Monica, CA from 1999 to 2001. He then worked as an underwriter for the Health Care Financing Group of General Motors Acceptance Corporation Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM) from 2001-2002.
Mr. Lebowitz received his MBA degree from the University of Southern California specializing in Real Estate and Health Care Services in 2003, and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Arizona in 1998.
ANDREW SUH
Vice President
Andrew Suh is a Vice President of Investment at Watch Hill Capital where he is responsible for financial analysis, research, and portfolio management of private investments and public securities portfolio.
Prior to joining Watch Hill Capital, Mr. Suh was a senior associate at Green Street Advisors, a leading research firm in real estate, covering Health Care and Net Lease REITs. Before that, he worked at Fisher Investments in the investment research team. Mr. Suh received a M.A. in Economics from Duke University and a B.A. in Economics from New York University.
